|*Anna Zemánková : Untitled. Colored pencil and pastel on paper. 61 x 43 cm.|
20 years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, we present the works of Anna Zemánková (1908-1986). During the Cold War, Anna Zemánková continued to draw every morning despite her struggles with diabetes and menopause, as if to devour the slightest freedom found under the Communist regime in Prague. Although Anna passed away 3 years before the fall of the regime and the bloom of the democratic revolution, she bequeathed a collection of grippingly beautiful yet mysterious works blossoming with vitality.
