YUKIKO KOIDE PRESENT
We present the second exhibition of new works by Oswald Tschirtner (born 1920) following the successful exhibit last year. Psychologically damaged from his experience during World War II, Tschirtner was institutionalized upon his return at Gugging, a psychiatric hospital in Vienna, where he started drawing at the House of Artists. Over the years, his paintings have progressively simplified, capturing the essence with minimal yet eloquent lines and colors. Turning 86-year-old this year, Oswald Tschirtner shares his universe seen through sentient eyes.
