Mid-Century Czech Glass Design
YUKIKO KOIDE PRESENTS
Post World War II, Czechoslovakia enters the Communist Era. The Czech glass industry, with a history leading back to the middle ages, enters a period of transformation. The geometric design that amalgamates Cubism, Art Deco, Constructivism and the 50's artistic forms meets traditional craftsmanship and the unique sensation of "handmade crafts". The luminaires of a small nameless factory tell a "Mid-Century Modern" tale.
