Uxorious: Erotic Photographs by Eugene Von Bruenchenhein
YUKIKO KOIDE PRESENTS
20 years after his death, the exhibit Uxorious celebrates the work of Eugene Von Bruenchenhein for the first time in Japan. The original 1940's print photographs of his muse and wife, Marie, have been selected from his staggering number of works ranging from photographs, paintings and sculptures. The name of the exhibit, "Uxorious", which means having or showing an excessive fondness for one's wife, perfectly defines Eugene Von Bruenchenhein's work. The exhibition is a chronicle of obsessive love, captured in America during World War II.
